MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode. Kingston offers "K2" kit part numbers for Dual Channel mode.
Per MSI User's Manual, when 1-4 667MHZ DIMMs are installed, the memory will run at 667MHZ speed. When 5-8 667MHz DIMMs are installed, the system will automatically down clock memory frequency to 533MHz due to AMD CPU limitations.
Only channel A (DIMM 1, 3, 5 and 7) will be used under Single-Channel mode.
It is recommended that memory DIMMs should be installed in the order of
DIMM1 --> DIMM2 --> DIMM3 --> ..... --> DIMM8.
The DDR2 DIMM operates at different frequency when using different CPU. For example, when using 2.4GHz CPU the DDR2 667MHz DIMM will operate at 600MHz. Refer to Memory Frequency vs. Core Multiplier section in MSI P1-106 Series User's Manual for detailed explanation and memory frequency.
