Technical Notes
MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode. Kingston offers "K2" kit part numbers for Dual Channel mode.
Mixing DDR2-400 or DDR2-533 Registered DIMMs with DDR2-667 Registered with Parity DIMMs is not recommended. Installing more than four Dual Rank DDR2-667 DIMMs will slow the memory speed to 533MHz.
To achieve 128GB using DDR2-667 (32GB per processor bank), 4GB Single Rank modules must be installed. There is a limit of eight memory ranks per processor bank at this speed, using either FOUR Dual Rank modules, or EIGHT Single Rank modules.
Mixing x4 and x8 modules is allowed, however not within the same bank.
